Symposium Sustainable Mobility

On 7 October 2009 One Planet Foundation supported the Numa Group in organising a symposium on sustainable mobility in Rotterdam. It dealt with practical measures of reducing the Carbon Footprint and the environmental impact of movement in the Netherlands. The CEOs of some of the biggest businesses in the Netherlands were guest speakers. They spoke about the measures that their industries had taken to reduce their Carbon Footprint. For example: balanced score cards for business unit managers insisting on a yearly reduction of 5% Carbon Footprint; importation of electric cars; stimulation of the use of public transport for employees; conferences via videos; innovative location policies; energy reduction in buildings; resourcefulness when working, etc. The distinguished speakers and the scope of their businesses ensured that this was a symposium of consequence. The role of One Planet Foundation in this event once again confirms its role as an innovative catalyst and incubator for sustainable initiatives.
