Home Energy Monitor

Home Energy Monitor

An attempt by One Planet in 2008 to develop a Home Energy Monitor with Essent, with which homeowners could see all energy consumption in their homes live on a small screen in the living room. Studies show that this alone can result in about 5% energy savings, because the homeowner is more aware of his energy consumption. But Essent thought that One Planet was too small for this, and would have preferred a larger partner like Philips. After that, the competitor Eneco launched a similar product show on the market. This has now become a standard tool in Dutch houses.
