Pancake safaris

Pancake safaris

As part of our Real Food in the Eemstad program to stimulate the production and consumption of local food, in 2011 Justin Pagden organized at One Planet, a series of Pancake Safaris. Groups of children, accompanied by Justin and a helper, made 5-hour bike safaris along local farms to pick up eggs, milk and flour. Then they baked pancakes together and eat them. This is how young children learn where their food comes from. Milk, eggs and flour do not just come from a supermarket but from real animals and fields. These safari’s were very popular!
